Analyzes biological, medical, human, psychological, social, technological, and occupational science–related knowledge, synthesizes this information with occupation- and participation-based theories, and identifies an individual’s capabilities and limitations.
Critically interprets activity and participation limitations, selects an appropriate professional role (e.g., treatment, consultation, prevention), and works in a client-centered manner by using occupations in prevention, rehabilitation, and treatment.
Selects appropriate theories and models to determine the occupational and health needs of individuals and communities, and plans interventions through analysis and synthesis.
Implements occupational therapy interventions through close collaboration with individuals and communities, and works to enhance social participation by creating accessible and adaptable environments.
Collaborates and works in an interdisciplinary manner with service users, caregivers, team members, and other stakeholders to support roles and participation.
