The Occupational Therapy Department of Izmir Tınaztepe University, Faculty of Health Sciences, aims to be an interdisciplinary research and development department that facilitates the letarjin of occupational therapy in Turkey using efficient methods that meet world standards.

Izmir Tınaztepe University's Occupational Therapy Department aims to help individuals who require specialized treatment, such as those with mental, physical, sensory, visual, social, environmental, emotional, speech and language development difficulties, or behavioral problems, integrate into society by improving their self-care and independent living skills.
Occupational Therapy Department Aims to Eliminate Barriers
Occupational therapy, a person-centered health profession, works to ensure individuals' participation in daily life activities.
In occupational therapy, physical, social, and environmental factors that impact individuals' social participation are assessed and necessary interventions are implemented to eliminate or reduce them. (WFOT - World Federation of Occupational Therapy)
Occupational therapists work to improve individuals' and communities' ability to perform the activities they desire, need, and are expected of, and to organize activities or environments to better facilitate participation. These efforts include:
- To enable individuals to achieve independence and fulfill the roles required for their home, social, and work lives without relying on anyone else.
- To increase the employment potential of people with disabilities by eliminating technical, legal, and behavioral barriers.
- To implement European Employment Strategies to help disadvantaged individuals find employment.
- To implement practices aimed at ensuring the competence and social participation of disadvantaged groups, including people with disabilities, street children, alcohol and substance abusers, the elderly, and women experiencing violence by improving their activity and role performance.
- To develop preventive strategies that include meaningful and purposeful physical and mental occupational therapy activities and lifestyle modification.
Occupational therapists work with all individuals who, due to a health problem, have impairments in their body structure and functions, or who are excluded or restricted from their social or community participation.

The Occupational Therapy Department at Izmir Tınaztepe University offers students an education built on the fundamental principles of occupational therapy, providing them with a thorough understanding of occupational therapy concepts and theories.
The undergraduate program aims to train occupational therapists who will enable people to be healthy and functionally independent in all aspects of life, possessing fundamental knowledge of medicine, rehabilitation, and occupational therapy, and possessing the clinical practice skills and skills to become researchers and managers. Students receive a comprehensive education encompassing medical, social, behavioral, psychological, psychosocial, and occupational therapy sciences, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to work collaboratively with individuals, groups, or communities.
Graduates of the Occupational Therapy Department are designated as "Occupational Therapists" or "Occupational Therapists."
The Occupational Therapy Department curriculum provides students with a four-year program that will enable them to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge they acquire in the fields of health, education, and business.
