Department of Endodontics
The Department of Endodontics deals with the diseases and treatment of the pulp tissue, a vascular nerve package located under the dental hard tissues and provides nutrition and protection, as well as tissues surrounding the root apex. In case of inflammation of the pulp tissue due to a deep caries, trauma, mechanical or thermal irritants, a root canal treatment should be performed which consists of removing the pulp, cleaning and filling the root and canal of the tooth. With this treatment, the survival time of the tooth is extended instead of extraction.
Treatments such as root canal treatment, vital pulp treatments, devital bleaching, endodontic treatment of traumatized teeth, apical resection, renewal of root canal treatments, root canal treatment of teeth that have not completed root development are within the scope of the Department of Endodontics.
